With support of the governmental organisations, representatives of financial sector, and NGOs we elaborate policies in the areas of Sustainability and Digitalisation;
Together with the colleagues from European universities, beneficiaries of other Jean Monnet projects, local and foreign experts, we develop and introduce advanced, as well as introductory courses for the students of TSUE, other HEIs and VET institutions across the country;
In collaboration with the academic staff of the schools, we create and teach short courses for the schoolchildren;
Jointly with all organisations involved in the activities outlined above, we inform and disseminate the results of our research and teaching to wider public
OUR OBJECTIVES
To conduct applied research in the field of sustainability and digitalization with focus on European experience
As a result of this research, we are developing a Sustainable Finance Strategy for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). This strategy is to be elaborated in the cooperation with the State Fund for Support of Entrepreneurship (SFSE), which is one of the largest organizations assisting in governmental support of SMEs in Uzbekistan and commercial banks. The expertise of ECESBF will support the dissemination of European experience in implementing environmental, social and governmental standards in investment and lending decisions, while fostering dialogue between the academic world and society, specifically policy-makers and business.
To inform the wider community about European experience in the field of Digitalization
We do this through the creation of the Digitalisation Documentation Database in Business and Finance. The Database should contain the links and information about the European and Uzbek policies in the field. While the European documents can be found on various cites of the European Commission and other EU bodies, a catalogue also including also the local legal acts, will offer a single point of search for the academics, researchers, students, as well as practitioners, and policy makers
To offer the recommendations for the evaluation and monitoring of the progress of the digital transformation in Uzbekistan
To achieve this goal we conduct the analysis of the EU sources, using the Database (please see above), and compare them to the practices adopted in our country; develop a Digital Transformation Scoreboard and offer it in form of a policy paper for implementation in Uzbekistan
To address the EU studies by provide continuity and sustainability in teaching on the European studies in Business and Finance
on the basis of existing experience gained through the implementation of the Erasmus Module on European Studies in Business, Economics and Finance, while introducing a more specific and relevant focus on sustainability and digitalization. We offer two advanced courses to the students of the TSUE. At the end of the project the Course Reader to be completed and published in open access
To involve wide groups of recipients into the training activities in the field of European studies, also from the directions of students not exposed to the EU-focused content
To achieve this goal, we organise short blocks of courses for the students from multiple faculties of the TSUE, students of other HEIs of Uzbekistan, as well as VET students. In order to achieve higher dissemination and sustainability of this action in the first phase we organise the training-for-trainers. The objective is that the material is internalised by the lecturers and integrated into their existing courses.
To scale up the coverage of different audience groups, to contribute to involvement and attraction of young generation to European Studies
We design and offer the short-blocked courses to the pupils of secondary schools. We want to ensure that especially the younger groups of population can get in contact with the topic of sustainability and benchmarking experience of the EU in the field. As in the previous activity, we strongly believe that the involvement of host institution participants can significantly contribute to the success. That’s why we develop the syllabus in collaboration with the teachers of schools and after the first introduction phase, we involve them into teaching the course to their audiences.
To raise awareness of the benchmarking European experience in the field, and to highlight the readiness of the EU to share and support such knowledge and expertise transfer through the programs, like Erasmus+ Jean Monnet
In order to reach this objective we need to ensure the broader dissemination and sustainability of the Centre’s activities. We plan to achieve it through various tools and channels, one of which is our Working group. Another important channel is the website of the Centre, as well as the social media channels. Moreover, we organise various seminars and workshops, involving policy-makers, business community, academics in discussing and disseminating European experience in sustainable business and finance and making the role of the EU visible among wide circles of audience. Particular attention in the process is to be paid to the cooperation with the beneficiaries of the projects supported by the Erasmus Program of the European Commission, especially Jena Monnet activities. A number of formal and informal events in form of seminars and workshops organized at the premises of TSUE, as well as other Universities will foster the exchange of experience and promote the ways of further joint dissemination of EU studies.
To respond to the call for the digitalisation, also in the educational process
We introduce modern methodologies, including the online and hybrid training formats. At the same time by training the trainers we ensure that these new methodologies are transferred to the host institutions. Also by involving of multiple stakeholders into orbit of our research and academic activities we contribute to the long-term impact and sustainability of our results. This will allows us to make a valuable contribution to the quality of national system of higher education in the long-term.
